The Parent's Handbook

This information contained in this handbook describes the guidelines we believe important to the life of your children while attending Miss Brooks Day Care

Affirmative Statement

Miss Brooks Daycare advertises for children in the public media, churches and from appreciative parents in order to make openings known to all. Children are registered regardless of race, color, creed, sex, national origin, religion, or handicap conditions.

Admissions

Children are admitted into the Center beginning with the age of 0 to 5 years old.

Parents or guardians who have children with special needs will meet with the Director at the time of enrollment.

Spaces are filled on a first-come/first-served basis according to the date of enrollment with the Director.

If the Center is full when the parents call to register, the child's name is placed on a waiting list to fill vacancies as they occur.

Calendar year

We are open Monday through Friday. Our hours of operation are 6:30 am - 6:00 pm.
The Center observes the following holidays:
Labor Day,
Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
New Year's Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Martin Luther King's Day
One Public School Observed Holiday

Pick-Up and Delivery of Children
No child is to brought before 6:30 am nor picked up after 6:00pm. If a child is left beyond 6:00 pm with no arrangements made, there will be an overtime charge. Consistent lateness after the regular dismissal time will be cause to ask you to withdraw your child/ren from the Center. A late fee of $5.00 for every 15 minutes child has not been picked up. For safety's sake, children must never be left without direct transfer to an adult staff member. No child will be released to a person not authorized by a parent/guardian to pick the child up. We must have written or verbal authorization for changes in this respect.
